Rules

       By entering the Competition You hereby accept the Terms and Conditions of the Competition Rules listed below.

1. GENERAL

1.1 By entering the Photography World Contests organized by Canadian International Digital Photography Award (CIDPA), You agree and acknowledge that  CIDPA Organizing Committee is permitted to receive Your registration data. All personal information will be used by CIDPA in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

1.2.1 The 2nd International Photography Contest  "CIDPA 2012" starts at 00:01am (GMT) on Wednesday, January 4^th 2012 and ends at midnight on Thursday, September 27^th 2012. 

1.2.2  The Photography Contest  "Wildlife & Nature" starts at 00:01am (GMT) on Sunday, April 15^st, 2012 and ends at midnight on Friday, June 15^th 2012.

1.2.3  Photography Competitions are open to all Photographers Around The World.

1.3 All entrants must be over 18. In case you are under 18 you need to submit parent’s or legal guardian’s consent to participate in the Competition.

2.  ENTRY
2.1 To enter, You must upload Your image(s) via the following website: www.photographyaward.org (the “Website”).

2.2 You may enter a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 images per category, and may enter as many categories as you wish, however you cannot enter the same image or series of images into more than one category.

2.3 Your photos must have been taken with a digital camera. Retouched works are accepted but not reccommended.

2.4 Images uploaded to the Website should not exceed the maximum size of 5MB, saved as JPEG (.jpg) in RGB format and must be no longer than 2000 pixels on the longest side.

2.5 If your image has been selected for the final round of Judging, you will be required to submit a high-resolution version within 14 days.

All entries must include a processing fee in Canadian currency according to the following schedule.

For "CIDPA 2012"

a. Single image for Professionals – $20.00 / $30.00**
    Single image for Beginners– $15.00 / $30.00**
    Single image for Students– $10.00 / $25.00**

b. Series of 2-5 images for Professionals – $40.00 / $60.00**
    Series of 2-5 images for Beginners $30.00 / $60.00**
    Series of 2-5 images for Students $25.00 / $50.00**

c. Series of 6-10 images for all Professionals/Beginners – $50.00 / $100.00**
    Series of 6-10 images for Students - $50.00 / $80.00**

For "Wildlife & Nature"
a. Single image all participants - $15.00 / $20.00**
b. Series of 2-5 images for all participants - $30.00 / $45.00**

* Processing fees are non refundable
** the fee after May 31, 2012.

3.1 Entries for "CIDPA 2012" will be judged by the Honorary Jury Members.
      Entries for "Wildlife & Nature" will be judged by the Canadian International Digital Photography Award Organizing Committee.

3.2 Qualified images from each category will be selected as a nominee and the winners will be selected among these nominees. The finalists will be notified by email.
       The winners for "CIDPA 2012" will be announced at the Awards ceremony in Montreal, Canada on Thursday, November 6, 2012.
       The winner for "Wildlife & Nature" will be announced on Friday, June 22, 2012.
      

3.3 The winner of each category will be awarded a return flight (economy class) and hotel accommodations for two consecutive nights including the Award night.

3.4 The decision of the Honorary Jury and CIDPA's Organizing Committee is final and no negotiation will be entered into with respect to any such decision.

4. REGULATIONS

4.1 CIDPA reserves the right to disqualify and remove any entry that does not comply with the following requirements, even after the entry is submitted on the Website. You warrant and represent, in respect of each entry submitted by You (“Entry”), as follows:

4.1.1 You are the sole owner and author of each Entry

4.1.2 You have the right to make Your entry available for the Competition

4.1.3 Each Entry does not contain personally identifiable information about You or any other person(s)

4.1.4 Each Entry does not contain any infringing, threatening, false, misleading, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane content

4.1.5 Each Entry does not contain any material that could constitute or encourage conduct which would be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any law

4.1.6 Each Entry does not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, contract rights, or any other intellectual property rights of any third person or entity, or violate any person’s rights of privacy or publicity, and

Your Entry does not include:

4.1.6.1 Trademarks owned by third parties

4.1.6.2 Copyrighted materials owned by third parties (including movie dialogue or musical compositions)

4.1.6.3 Names, likenesses, voices or other characteristics identifying celebrities or other public figures, living or dead

4.1.7 Entries which contain any commercial content that promotes any product or service other than that of CIDPA.

4.2 You agree to fully indemnify CIDPA in respect of all royalties, fees and any other monies owing to any person by reason of Your breaching any of the foregoing.

4.3 You confirm that each person depicted in the Entry has granted permission to be portrayed as shown. Any costumes, props or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the permission of the owner, and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.

5. PRIZES

Prizes for "CIDPA 2012"

    
5.1 The Gold Prize is the “Photographer in Distinction 2012” winner.
The winner of the Competition will win a $10,000.00 cash prize, a "Taros" Trophy and an Gold Award Certificate.

5.2 Category winners.
The winner of each category will win $1000.00 cash plus a "Taros" Trophy,  an Award Certificate and a gift from a sponsor.

5.3 Intermediate winners. 
Four (4) intermediate winners for "CIDPA 2012" will be announced in March, May, July and September 2011. Each Intermediate winner will win $300.00 cash.

Prizes for "Wildlife & Nature" are:

5.4 
The First place  winner  -  $1,000.00 cash prize and Gold Award Certificate.
The Second place winner - $300.00 cash prize and Silver Award Certificate.
The Third place  winner  - $150.00 cash prize and Bronze Award Certificate.

5.5 The contestant CAN NOT win more than one prize mentioned in the points 5.1 and 5.2.  The Intermediate winner CAN win any prize mentioned in the points 5.1 and 5.2.

5.6 CIDPA may run an online rating process whereby public visitors may vote for a favorite image. However, CIDPA reserves the right to remove any image from the rating process if  CIDPA’s Organizing Committee will find any malpractice, unfair voting and/or manipulation of the rating process.

6. COPYRIGHTS

6.1 The photographer  keeps the copyrights and all other rights of submitted to Competitions images. Any image used by CIDPA shall carry the photographer’s name. All entrants understand that any image submitted to the competitions may be used by CIDPA, and its media partners, for marketing and promotional purposes of the event only, for three years and author may not pretend to any monetary compensation.

6.2 You agree to participate in related publicity and to the use of Your name and likeness for the purposes of advertising, promotion and publicity without additional compensation.

8. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to make corrections during the competition process to bring equality for all participants of the Photography International Contests organized by CIDPA.
